Installing a DMfit push-in fitting requires a correctly prepared tube, full insertion and a leak check. Before starting, confirm the part number and the operating conditions of the circuit.

Preparing the tube

Stop the system, isolate the supply and release pressure. Cut the tube square using a suitable tool. The end must be clean, free of cracks and crushing, with no scratches within 30 mm of the connection end. Deburr metal tubing to prevent O-ring damage and check that the fitting series is suitable for that tubing.

Connection procedure

  1. Check that the tube outside diameter matches the fitting socket.
  2. Remove foreign material from the tube end and connection.
  3. Push the tube fully into the fitting. The first resistance does not necessarily mean that it has reached the stop.
  4. Apply a moderate pull to check the grip.
  5. Fit the appropriate DMfit locking clip where required and keep the tubing free of side loads.
  6. Return the circuit to service in a controlled manner and check for leaks.

Disconnecting the tube

Release all pressure. Remove the clip if fitted, press the collet evenly towards the fitting body and withdraw the tube. Do not pull forcefully without releasing the collet. Before reuse, inspect the sealing area and replace damaged components.

Threaded fittings

Identify the thread standard and intended sealing method. Avoid excessive tightening. Instructions for sealing a threaded connection do not mean that tape should be applied to the tube surface passing through the O-ring.
