Selecting a DMfit fitting means considering the body, seal and tubing together. The catalogue includes acetal resin (POM), polypropylene and brass products; seals may be NBR or EPDM depending on the configuration.
Acetal resin or POM
Acetal is used in DMfit imperial and metric fitting series. The catalogue describes its wear resistance and mechanical stability, while advising against strong acids and repeated exposure to strong oxidising agents. A POM designation alone therefore does not approve a fluid or cleaning agent.
Polypropylene
PP is used in dedicated fittings and valves. Its chemical resistance can be useful in particular applications but must be assessed together with the seal and tubing. White colour alone does not identify every polypropylene configuration or distinguish it from acetal.
NBR and EPDM: check the part number
The O-ring contacts the fluid and is essential to sealing. NBR and EPDM versions are not equivalent for every substance. Include cleaning chemicals, disinfectants and cleaning-cycle temperatures when specifying a fitting.
LLDPE tubing
DMfit linear low-density polyethylene tubing is available in metric and inch sizes and several colours. Select outside diameter for the connection and check inside diameter for the fluid passage. Colour can help identify lines but is not a substitute for technical specifications.
