The chemical compatibility of a DMfit connection depends on every material in contact with the fluid. A positive assessment of the body resin is not enough if the O-ring, tubing or another component is unsuitable.
Reading the compatibility table
The DMfit chemical compatibility tables distinguish materials and acceptability levels. Standard data refer to room temperature; elevated temperature and prolonged contact can change performance. “No data” does not mean compatible.
Information needed for an assessment
- Exact fluid or commercial product name and available composition.
- Concentration, mixtures and additives.
- Temperature and contact duration, including cleaning cycles.
- Pressure, flow and operating mode.
- Fitting and tubing part numbers and O-ring material.
Cleaning and sanitation
Check substances used occasionally as well as the normal fluid. A water circuit may contact concentrated cleaners or disinfectants during maintenance. Do not determine sanitation concentrations or contact times solely from a resin compatibility table.
Chemical, cosmetic and laboratory applications
These sectors involve very different fluids. Listing a sector as an application does not approve every process. DMfit precautions call for contacting DMT about chemicals outside ordinary water, beverage and liquid-food applications.
When to pause selection
If composition is unknown, data are missing or conditions differ from those documented, request an assessment before use. Confirmation must cover the complete configuration and actual operating conditions.
