Is 6 mm tubing the same as 1/4-inch tubing?
No. One quarter inch equals 6.35 mm. Choose the exact tube outside diameter for the connection and use a suitable adaptor when changing between sizes.
Does thread size equal tube diameter?
No. The tube socket and thread are separate specifications. Read both dimensions and the thread standard, such as BSPP, BSPT or NPTF, in the product description.
Why can a tube feel inserted while the connection leaks?
The gripping system may retain it before full insertion. After depressurising, check insertion, cut quality, tube surface and fitting condition.
What does a locking clip do?
The clip specified for the model limits collet movement. It does not compensate for wrong tube size, a poor cut or incomplete insertion.
Can I reuse a fitting?
The catalogue allows for reuse, but the connection must be inspected. Replace damaged components and check the seal again.
Can I disconnect tubing under pressure?
No. Stop and isolate the system, release residual pressure, remove any locking clip and follow the collet-release procedure.
Does the entire range have one maximum pressure?
No. Size, series, temperature and connected components may have different limits. Check the fitting and tubing specifications.
Can I use fittings with cleaners or chemicals?
The assessment must include the body, seal, tubing, concentration, temperature and contact duration. Request an assessment for the actual substance.
Is DMfit interchangeable with equivalent products from other brands?
Do not infer interchangeability from nominal diameter alone. Compare geometry, tolerances, threads, materials and use conditions; request assessment of the combination before substituting another brand.
What information helps identify a replacement?
Provide a readable part number, a photograph, tube outside diameter, thread type, fluid and operating conditions. A photograph alone may not distinguish similar variants.
